10 Makeup products I can’t live without
- Mist and Fix by Make Up Forever – I’m a big fan of all things glitter and this mist not only sets liquid and powder foundations, it’s the best answer for applying glitter with minimal fall out.
- Black Kajal pencil by Stila- Everyone wants to use a waterproof pencil in the inner rim of the eye to get that extra emphasis and the idea is that water proof is going to stay in the inner rim better. However, the truth is that water proof on dry skin, (i.e. the lash line) means that tearing won’t break down the eyeliner. The key there is dry skin. The water line of one’s eye is never dry, hence the name. Therefore it takes a really soft, almost oily pencil to have any lasting power in a permanently damp environment. Traditional kajal, for instance is made of oil and soot. The bottom line is no matter what, you’re eventually going to have to touch up the inner rim, but a khole or kajal pencil is going to be your best answer, and stila happens to be my favorite.
- Photofinish eye shadow primer by Smashbox- This is a shadow priming magic wand! Not only does it do all of the fantabulous things a shadow primer should (if you’re not familiar with the wonders of shadow priming, leave me a comment and we’ll talk), it also contains hyloronic acid (a moisture binding that carries a thousand times it’s weight in water) which means the often over-looked eye lid is getting some much needed hydration! YAY!
- Phenomen’eyes Mascara by Givenchy- The wand is genius.
- Makeup artist 00 bronzer by Guerlain- The non-scary brozner for fairer skins. It’s expensive, but there’s nothing I’ve found that works as well for soft subtle contouring.
- Doe-eyed liner by Sephora- Easiest liquid liner in the universe to use.
- All of the new single shadows by Sephora- Amazing pigment and quality for $12. Awesome.
- Cream liner/shadow in Putty by Smashbox- The best base for any smokey eye you’ll ever want. I know it looks like mud, but give it a chance.
- Addict gloss in Chiffon Beige by Dior- Non-sticky gloss in a beautiful nude that goes with everything.
- Precious Light concealer by Guerlain- I swear this stuff contains drops of from the fountain of youth or something. Pop it on after a late night, and you look like you’ve just been to the spa!!
